Pupils from Isaac Newton Primary School enjoyed a day at the National Tennis Centre in London last week.
The trip was part of a prize they won after coming top out of more than 100 entries in the Lawn Tennis Association’s "Road to Westminster" video competition in July of this year.
On arrival they were given a tour of the centre and took part in a two-hour training session. They just missed out on catching a glimpse of Andy Murray, who was training there that morning.
Isaac Newton Primary PE teacher Pippa Walker said: “It was a once in a lifetime trip and a great experience which all of our pupils will never forget.”
The first part of the LTA’s competition prize saw pupils from the school visit London to meet Prime Minister David Cameron and play tennis on specially created courts within the grounds of Big Ben. The school also won £150 worth of tennis equipment.
