CIT Inclusion Forum: Strengthening Support Through Collaborative Expertise

CIT - Community Inclusive Trust. Where learning comes first

One of this term’s highlights has been the continued delivery of the CIT Inclusion Forum, chaired by LEARN SEND Hub’s Deputy Director, Sarah Robertson.

This termly online forum provides a structured, solution-focused space for schools to reflect on their provision and receive tailored, multidisciplinary guidance.

Each session brings together a highly experienced panel, including:
– an Educational Psychologist,
– a LEARN SEND Hub SENCo,
– a Headteacher from a special setting,
– the CIT Director of Education, and
– the CIT Early Years Lead.

Ahead of each meeting, schools complete a short referral form, enabling the panel to understand the context, explore the presenting needs and prepare focused recommendations. This approach ensures that the discussion is purposeful, efficient and rooted in the school’s real priorities.

The Inclusion Forum supports schools to:
– identify needs early,
– review the effectiveness of current provision,
– consider appropriate next steps and targeted interventions, and
– develop practical, child-centred plans.

By bringing together specialist knowledge from across CIT and LEARN SEND Hub, the forum ensures every learner is supported to thrive. It is a powerful example of how collaborative problem-solving can drive meaningful improvements in practice, provision and pupil outcomes.
