Woodlands Academy was transported back to the Middle Ages on Monday, 8th December, thanks to a full-day visit from the Knights of Skirbeck, a renowned medieval re-enactment society.
The event, designed to enrich the history curriculum for all year groups, offered pupils an unforgettable hands-on experience. Our pupils were treated to a fascinating weapons briefing, an exhilarating combat demonstration, and a dramatic re-enactment of the death of Richard III.
Interactive elements throughout the day allowed pupils to engage directly with history, sparking curiosity and excitement about the medieval period.
The visit proved to be a resounding success, with both staff and pupils praising the immersive learning experience. Woodlands Academy hopes to make this unique event an annual tradition.
