This consultation opened on Thursday 22nd June 2023 and will close on Thursday 20th July 2023
Following an announcement from the Early Years Alliance of their intention to close “Happitots Nursery” towards the end of July, the Community Inclusive Trust (CIT) and Chapel St Leonard’s Primary School are consulting on the possibility of reopening a nursery provision using the same facilities/building as previously used by ‘Happitots’ on Amery Way, Chapel St Leonards, within the grounds of the school.
Pre-school provision in the area is extremely limited and the school is keen to ensure that local children and their families continue to have access to high-quality nursery provision in their local area. The nursery would be fully led and managed by the school.
This consultation includes extending the age range at Chapel St Leonards Primary School to take children from 2 years old so that they have 2 years pre-school education and care prior to entering the Reception Year group.
If the outcome of this consultation is positive for CIT to proceed, we will work with the DfE as swiftly as we can to re-open a nursery for local children.
Consultation question:
- Do you have any objections to CIT and Chapel St Leonard’s Primary School reopening the village nursery and extending the age range of pupils who can attend the school to 2 – 11?
