‘Off with her Head!’ St Paul’s pupils explore their Tudor topic with local visits

CIT - Community Inclusive Trust. Where learning comes first

Year 5 pupils at St Paul’s Community Primary School brought their learning to life as they visited The Parish Church of St Mary and St Nicolas and Ayscoughfee Hall, exploring local history linked to their learning theme this term, ‘Off with Her Head’ during the Tudor era.

The Tudor period occurred between 1485 and 1603, and both buildings date back even further beyond that era – the church has been part of Spalding life for over 700 years, whilst Ayscoughfee Hall was built by Sir Richard Aldwyn, a wool stapler, in the 1420s.
