Poplar Farm Primary School pupils in Grantham had fun in the sun when PopFest, their annual enrichment festival, returned for a second year at the end of June!
An opportunity to learn new skills and experience unique activities, day one started with whole school yoga before pupils had the opportunity to partake in the following:
· Yoga
· African drumming
· School rock
· Drama
· Graffiti art
· Campfire
· Circus skills
· Sports activities
· Bollywood dancing
· Martial arts
Quoted in Ofsted’s recent report about the school, ‘Pupils enjoy their learning. They love taking part in extra activities like ‘PopFest’, the day was filled with smiles, laughter and enjoyment before pupils raced home to talk about their activities and an infamous Bollywood dance from some of the staff!
Day two provided the opportunity for pupils to showcase their talents in ‘Poplar’s Got Talent’, hosted by local comedian, Joe Rowntree. A range of acts, including singing, dancing, gymnastics, jokes, magic and much more, captured the imagination of the rest of the school, following performances from Poplar’s Choir and Musical Theatre Club.
Dressed in PopFest branded clothing, complete with festival glitter face paint, pupils also enjoyed some special guest musical performances, a festival lunch and a silent disco!
