Colleagues from mainstream schools across Lincolnshire have been enjoying ‘Tour and Talk’ sessions at SEND settings across the county, facilitated by experts from LEARN SEND Hub.
Delegates were given the opportunity to tour their selected school with an experienced practitioner who explained what is happening and why, considering the conscious decision the setting has made around provision, engagement and resourcing. This was followed by a thought-provoking talk with the objective to gain valuable insights into a range of best practices for supporting pupils with specific needs, discovering new strategies that can be personalised and implemented in mainstream settings.
CIT visited the ‘Tour and Talk’ session at Greenfields Academy where delegates delved into a wealth of knowledge and information, whilst also being given the opportunity to ask questions to Headteacher, Andy Rush, Deputy Headteacher, Beth Archer, and LEARN SEND & Leadership Lead Practitioner, Amy Storer. The session provided an overview of Greenfields and SEMH (Social, Emotional, and Mental Health), before the in-depth guided tour and an exploration of the Greenfields curriculum.
The Greenfields ‘Tour and Talk’ session was the fifth in a series of six with the final session taking place at Grantham Additional Needs Fellowship – Ambergate Campus. Previous sessions took place at Fortuna School, Lincoln St Christopher’s, Gosberton House and St Lawrence.
