As part of the Trust’s commitment to reducing environmental impact, we have previously reported on the roll out of LED bulbs across CIT schools, electrical monitoring equipment installed across all schools, as well as the introduction of a Bike2Work Scheme and Octopus Electric Vehicles’ EV electric car scheme.
Our current environmental project is the installation of Photovoltaic (PV – Solar panels) across our sites. An in-depth survey of our entire estate took place last year and planning applications were submitted. We are now proud to report that solar panels have been installed on the roofs of twelve CIT school buildings (see below) providing us with sustainable, noise free, pollution free energy.

We are estimating a reduction in our carbon footprint annually by 45.34 tonnes – that is the equivalent of saving over 2,000 trees (6 acres of Forest) each year!
