Pupils at Tulip Academy Spalding, Springview Campus, were thrilled to celebrate Chinese New Year with an immersive Chinese Lion Dance from Primary Workshops for Schools.
Classes had the opportunity to watch a traditional Chinese fan dance to wake up the lion before a spectacular routine to wish everyone in the school luck for the year ahead.
Pupils had the opportunity to explore their senses by interacting with the lion and even trying on costumes! Some of the groups were so immersed that they started to form their own procession.
After waving goodbye to the lion, pupils tucked into a delicious Chinese buffet provided by local restaurant, The Crystal Inn.
One youngster explained, ‘today was amazing! I really enjoyed seeing the lion and trying on the costume. I have never had Chinese food before but it is so tasty!’
