Families of pupils at Poplar Farm Primary School have been working hard over half-term to develop various creations for the school garden area.
The overall objective was to build a fairy village using all of the masterpieces made by the pupils and parents. One pupil created a pool for the fairies, another made a house with a detachable roof that comes off and there are also toadstools, signs and fairy drums.
Mrs McGettigan, Teaching Assistant, explained: “The children love to explore the outdoors and we wanted to develop our garden area to capture the children’s imaginations. They have always liked using natural materials to make houses and pathways so I thought it would be great to involve parents with a project they could do with the children over half-term. We can’t wait to see the rest of the children’s ideas and creations.”
