June 2024 brought our third annual intra-school football tournament. Key Stage 3 and Key Stage 4 pupils from across our SEND schools take part each year, and as with previous years, the tournament took place at The Meres 3G football pitch in Grantham.
KS3 Results
Woodlands, Greenfields, Tulip, and two teams from GANF schools arrived for the tournament.
The tournament was a league format in which every team played each other once for 20 minutes, earning 3 points for a win, 1 point for a draw and 0 points for a loss.
The pupils were amazing and showed great sportsmanship throughout the day. They coped well with the heat too! Most matches were close and the teamwork from all schools was second to none. Greenfields came out on top followed closely by Tulip, with GANF blues taking 3rd place.
KS4 Results
We saw some great games and cracking goals from the teams, with a welcome appearance from Foxfields (as they couldn’t make it for the KS3 fixtures).
Foxfields just about got over the line beating GANF in a very scrappy game. Foxfields then went on to beat Greenfields in their final game to become Champions. Foxfields won closely followed by GANF, with Woodlands managing 3rd place ahead of Greenfields and Tulip.
Main organiser and Assistant Headteacher at GANF – Ollie Maltby said:
“This is the third year for our CIT SEND Football Tournament, and once again another successful two days of competitive football.
All the schools and pupils who took part should be proud as they demonstrated a great level of football. Their behaviour and attitude across the event were amazing and they all represented themselves and their schools exceptionally well.
I would like to especially thank all the teachers and TAs who attended and supported with the organisation of the event.
Congratulations to Greenfields and Foxfields for taking the wins home this year.”
