Chapel St Leonard’s Primary School are delighted to be taking part in the Creativity Awards this year, hosted by Actor and Writer Ben Keaton. Ben has performed in TV shows such as Casualty, Emmerdale and Father Ted, as well as many London shows.
The Creativity Award is a programme of visits and workshops from a professional artist who provides the tools to give primary school teachers and their students the joy of making things.
This is Ben’s second visit to spend time with pupils and guide them to create their own brand-new stories.
Following the securing of funding from the Johnson & Mukherjee Charitable Trust, the school is now able to deliver the Creativity Award to pupils.
The Creativity Award is a programme of visits and workshops from a professional artist in a process of creative play. This process can be applied to any form of expression. It is designed to give young people confidence in their creativity.
Across the coming year teachers will be provided with resources that will help them include the creative process within their teaching technique. This project will benefit the entire school of 138 children.
Look out for follow up stories from us later in the year…
