GANF pupils receive an official ‘Thank you’ from Duke of Edinburgh Awards

CIT - Community Inclusive Trust. Where learning comes first

GANF pupils taking part in their Duke of Edinburgh Award this year, have been doing such a fantastic job helping within the local community that the Central England DofE Director, Jackie Bull, has awarded them with an official certificate to say ‘Thank you’.

This is wonderful recognition for the pupil’s hard work volunteering. GANF pupils taking part are all aged between 14 to 16 with mixed abilities, and are either working towards a Bronze or Silver DofE Award. The pupils have donated 182 hours of volunteer work so far.

They have been keeping the church yard tidy at Barrowby Church whilst encouraging natural wildlife to the area. They have also been helping to restore the graveyard to its former glory over at St Sebastian’s Church in Great Gonerby. At Caythorpe Primary School, the DofE pupils have been busy tidying up the overgrown pond so that the school pupils there can enjoy the pond again.

Well done to all involved!
