Greenfields Academy is a Specialist School for SEMH pupils (Social, Emotional, Mental Health). The school runs a creative and bespoke curriculum tailored to meet the academic and social needs of their pupils.
Formerly The Phoenix Academy (a specialist secondary school), Greenfields will be extending its provision to cater for primary and secondary school children.
Executive Headteacher, Chris Armond said, “This is an exciting time for Greenfields Academy. Joining C.I.T. will provide further support to the hard work my staff are doing to maintain and improve the standards of education for all our pupils. Extending the provision to include primary will provide much needed education and care for SEMH children.”
Greenfields joining C.I.T moves the number of schools within the trust to 11:- Grantham Additional Needs Fellowship (Ambergate Sports College and Sandon School), Isaac Newton Primary School, Caythorpe Primary School, The Spalding Special Schools Fellowship (The Priory School and The Garth School), The John Fielding Special School in Boston, Woodlands Academy in Spilsby, Chapel St Leonards Primary School near Skegness, Poplar Farm Primary School in Grantham, plus The LEARN Teaching School Alliance.
Peter Bell, C.I.T. Chief Executive, added: “As the CEO of the Trust I am delighted that myself and a number of C.I.T staff have been working with The Phoenix Academy and their Trustees since Easter.”
“On the 1st November The Phoenix Academy Trust ceased to exist and Greenfields Academy opened as part of the Community Inclusive Trust.”
“Greenfields will continue to meet the current needs of their pupils. However, in partnership with the Local Authority and the DfE, it will also extend its age range and work towards providing the highest levels of education and care for primary and secondary children.”
